Saints success is music to John Truslove’s ears

Midlands DJ, bar and nightclub operator Adam Presdee is looking to add a new angle to a stable yet recently unchanged leisure scene in Redditch.

In a property deal put together by agents John Truslove, he recently opened the Saints venue in the town.

“Redditch’s nightlife needs revitalising, it has always been a growing town but its nightlife does not reflect that. We already have a great nightclub in the town but no real alternative to it, and as we all know the pub and bar occupancy has been shrinking!”

The late-night bar focuses on drinking dancing and socialising and prides itself as the “home of the jam jar cocktail” claiming to start a craze in the Town for mixed drinks served in rather innocent looking jam pots. Open Thursday to Saturday from 7pm to as late as 4am, in an open, classy and vibrant atmosphere

Mr Presdee is a director of the Bar Red businesses in Nuneaton and Redditch which trade under the Saints banner.

A DJ, recording artist and producer since the 1980s, with Top 40 hits, remixes and productions, while producing and presenting many radio shows including Radio 1 in the early 90s,he is also joint owner of Urban Hero Records in Birmingham, The Commission and Vinyl Matters Record shop. His Midlands roots have always been strong and continue to drive his love of the local nightlife

The new Redditch outlet at 4A The Quadrant in Alcester Street is 5,705 sq ft and has been taken on a 12-year lease.

Mr Presdee said: “It is exciting times – hopefully we are bringing a different offer to the Redditch leisure sector.

“The response has been fantastic.”

Ben Truslove, a director of John Truslove, said: “It has clearly got off to a good start and it surely has a great future.

“Redditch needs a variety of leisure outlets and Saints is certainly different.”

Meanwhile restaurant La Piccola Italia has signed up for 4B The Quadrant, which is next door, taking 5,068 sq ft on a ten-year lease.

“A quality Italian restaurant will be another great addition to the Redditch eating environment and will compliment Saints and The Rising Sun. I really look forward to sampling their lunch menu.” noted Mr Truslove.
