Eden Homes breaks ground on new housing project in Redditch after £630,000 land deal
Work is well under way on a new housing development in Redditch by Eden Homes following a land deal brokered by property agents John Truslove.
Eden Homes hope to complete the nine new homes by then end of the summer on the site off Paper Mill Drive.
Eden Homes, headed by brothers Andy and Darren Cutler, has so far completed around 20 housing projects in the region, ranging in size from eight to 25 homes.
Andy Cutler said: “We saw the Paper Mill Drive site advertised for sale. An unused plot of land, it was listed for commercial use, but we could see the potential for housing.”
The sale was being handled by commercial property agency John Truslove and joint directors Ian Parker and Ben Truslove both worked with the Eden Homes team to get the deal over the line, securing £630,000 for the 1.26 acre site, conditional on securing planning permission.
Backed by Redditch Borough Council planners, the project was granted permission in November 2021.
Eden Homes is building two two-bedroomed semi-detached houses, two three-bedroomed semi-detached houses, three three-bedroomed detached houses and a pair of four-bedroomed detached houses.
Mr Cutler said: “The site will offer the full range, from starter homes to executive family homes.
“There is terrific demand for homes, and it is always challenging finding suitable sites. The team at John Truslove did their part to make things as smooth as possible. They have always been fair and professional.
“The houses are now on the market with sales agent Lex Allan Grove. We have two homes reserved already and expect to see people moving into their new homes by the end of summer.”
Ian Parker, joint managing director of John Truslove, said: “Andy and Darren at Eden Homes clearly saw the residential potential of this unused plot of land.
There is huge demand for homes in and around Redditch and this development will help fill that need. We are very happy to have played our part in helping create new homes for local people.”
MFG Solicitors in Bromsgrove acted for Eden Homes in the land deal.
