Father and son Truslove team up for Oulton Park outing
The father and son team of John and Ben Truslove competed in two races in the CTCRC Pre-66 Touring Cars & Group 1 Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park on Saturday (28 May).
Driving a Ford Lotus Cortina, sponsored by John Truslove Chartered Surveyors & Valuers, Ben Truslove took the first stint behind the wheel, qualifying 10th and finishing 11th out of 29 in only his second race.
In the second race in the category, John Truslove did not post a qualifying time but worked his way through the field to finish 12th out of 29.
The car has been rebuilt and race-prep’d by JS Motorsport, the Atherstone-based business that prepares and restores historic and competition engines for motor racing enthusiasts.
The result follows Ben’s first outing in the car where he qualified 30th on a grid of 40 cars, and during the 11 lap race powered his way up to finish 20th overall and third in class.
John Truslove said: “This was a very pleasing result for Ben in only his second race, and we are both still learning the car and I am sure there is plenty more to come.”
The car’s next outing will be at Thruxton on 9 and 10 July.
The Redditch-based commercial property agency is this year celebrating 40 years since it was launched in 1982 by John Truslove.
