Forklift couple targeting fresh growth, helped by John Truslove A husband and wife team are marking the tenth anniversary of their forklift truck business with plans for major growth at their new base in Bromsgrove, secured with the aid of property agents John Truslove. Kevin and Georgina Ryan have seen more than 400 per cent growth at Easy Truck Materials Handling over the last two and a half years, meaning their business had outgrown its former premises in Alcester. Ian Parker, joint managing director at John Truslove, helped them secure units 1 and 2 at Schofield Business Park, on Sugarbrook Road, Aston Fields. The 7,500 sq ft of space has been rented for six years at £37,500 per annum. “We have expanded our team by seven or eight people to 19 at the moment, and our old premises just weren’t big enough,” explained Kevin Ryan. “The new unit give us room for more growth. With the space and new facilities, there’s a terrific atmosphere around the place from the workforce. They were fantastic before, but this is taking us to a different level. “There is a big market around here for materials handling equipment and we have pretty aggressive in winning new work, based on our reputation and the quality of the service we provide. We both sell and lease equipment and provide maintenance. “My wife and I started out ten years ago, but in the last few years we decided we didn’t want it just to be a lifestyle business, we wanted to really go for it. These new premises are key part of that ambition. “We have also taken on a new commercial director and office staff, but the main area of recruitment has been engineers to we can keep raising the quality of our service. If a firm wants to move a pallet around here, we are the men – and women – for the job.” Mr Ryan added: “Ian Parker from John Truslove helped us find our first premises, in Alcester, and he has been hugely helpful assisting us find our new base.” Ian Parker said: “Having known Kevin and Georgina for several years, and seen how they have built Easy Trucks, it was a real pleasure helping them find the right premises to put their business on track for its next phase of growth. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow over the coming years.”
