Former Worcestershire church that housed rare bells rings true for container company
A landmark building in Worcestershire that used to house rare bells is now the home to a thriving container business, thanks to property agency John Truslove.
The former Victorian church of St Mary, on Chapel Lane in Wythall, has been converted to offices and renamed Carillon House, after the carillon bells that were once housed in the church tower.
It is now the home of Budget Shipping Containers, originally a trade supplier business that launched its www.budgetshippingcontainers.co.uk website to provide the wider public with access to its range of competitively priced shipping containers.
The company, which has moved from previous offices in Ullenhall, had five staff and hopes to take on an extra worker next year. It works with a strategically located network that includes:
- 16 container yards
- 100-plus hauliers and another 100-plus freight forwarders
- 22 other container traders, stockholders or appointed agents
- two rail freight operators
- three of the top five worldwide container fleet owners, and
- the majority of the major international shipping lines.
The company was looking for bigger and better premises as its headquarters, and Ben Truslove and the team at the John Truslove agency identified Carillon House as fitting the bill.
The former church provides 1,562 sq ft of high specification office space, equipped with air conditioning and car parking. Just minutes from the M42 it gives the company easy access to the motorway network and the UK’s wider transport links.
At the same time the offices have retained numerous character features from the building’s former life as a church, giving it a unique appeal.
