John Truslove helps audio equipment supplier take next step with new rural HQ
Recording studios, producers and sound engineers are beating a path to the West Midlands after property agents John Truslove helped a specialist audio equipment supplier set up home in the Warwickshire countryside.
Sam Pemberton has moved his Make Noise Pro Audio business to The Old Vicarage in Coughton.
“As well as giving us the space for a growing team, we now have a demo studio so clients can test and hear our equipment, all in a really attractive space,” said Sam.
“I had been based on a farm unit for the past three years but now we have premises that help us present a more professional face to our clients.”
Sam worked with Ben Truslove, joint managing director at John Truslove, to secure a three-year lease on the 1,035 sq ft premises off the Alcester Road.
Ben Truslove said: “Sam has turned his interest in audio equipment into a flourishing business that needed the right set of premises to move to the next level. The Old Vicarage is the ideal new home for Make Noise Pro Audio and is already contributing to the growing success of the company.
“And sound engineering specialists are now making a beeline for Warwickshire, which can only be good news for the local economy.”
Sam Pemberton said: “I started out working for a live events sound company for a decade,” said Sam. “I was curious about how all the equipment worked, learned to maintain and repair it and started out on my own in around 2015.”
Since then, he has built a customer base UK-wide. He sources old or broken equipment and restores it to “as-new” condition. This means he can sell it at considerably less than the cost of brand new equipment. As a result sound engineers and producers travel long distances to secure top quality equipment from Make Noise Pro Audio.
The firm also carries out maintenance and repairs for clients and has expanded to add new equipment to its stock list.
“It’s been a bit of a cottage industry, servicing and repairing sound equipment, but it has become a very successful niche business,” said Sam. “I needed bigger premises because I have another engineer working with me now as well as a couple of freelancers.
“I spotted that The Old Vicarage was available and got in touch with John Truslove as the agents. Ben Truslove was very proactive. He enabled us to get in and have a look around, which underlined that these were ideal premises for us.
“With his help everything about securing the lease was plain sailing and since we moved in business has been going very well indeed.
“We now have premises that allow us to welcome clients and demonstrate the equipment. It’s an attractive building and helps us give the right impression to customers, who may have travelled a couple of hours to get here.”
Redditch born-and-bred Sam chose to stay local.
“Geographically we are right at the centre of the country, which is handy for our clients. And it also means we can fly the flag for the West Midlands.”
He added: “It is a real bonus that we have a great relationship with our landlord, who has let us make a number of changes to the premises, such as creating the demonstration studio space.”
