John Truslove helps Dormer Hire Centre’s major move for expansion
Commercial property agents John Truslove have helped one of Redditch’s best known business names move to new and larger premises after more than 30 years in its familiar base in Evesham Road, Headless Cross.
Dormer Hire Centre, which is owned by Redditch businessman Matt Dormer, has purchased Premier House in Hewell Road to house its plant and tool hire business.
The business was launched over 30 years ago and has been a well-known name in the town ever since. Born in Feckenham, Matt Dormer is also a Watch Commander at Redditch Fire Station.
The new property will also accommodate Frank Hedges Ground Care Ltd, a Bromsgrove-based garden equipment sales and repair business that Mr Dormer has acquired.
He said: “We had been outgrowing our former premises for the past ten years, and with the acquisition of the Bromsgrove garden equipment business, it made even more sense to seek out our own premises where we could consolidate our current growth and cater for further expansion.”
He added that the move was likely to create at least two jobs in the short term, with potentially more to come later this year.
The 15,160 sq ft building has been purchased for £575,000. Premier House was sold by John Truslove on behalf of Mobility Group Ltd who have relocated to an 80,000 sq ft unit on Padgets Lane, South Moons Moat, Redditch, in a deal also arranged by John Truslove.
Ben Truslove, a director at John Truslove, said: “It has been a pleasure to help one of the town’s longest established businesses move to cope with expansion, plus tying this in with the biggest letting in North Worcestershire since 2016 is fantastic news for local employment.
“Dormer Hire Centre has been a force in business in Redditch for many years and it is good to see well-known local businesses continuing to thrive and flourish in the face of constant national competition.”
