John Truslove helps water monitoring experts move to Redditch
A leading supplier of water monitoring equipment has moved its European base to Redditch, with the help of commercial property agency John Truslove.
In-Situ Europe has been providing firms with specialist equipment to monitor surface and groundwater for more than two decades.
But increasing demand has seen the company expand to the point where it had outgrown its previous base in Shirley and it had to start looking for new premises.
Financial controller Julie Rose said: “We have expanded quite a lot in the last few years and we needed somewhere that combined office accommodation with warehouse space for our expanding range of technical equipment”.
“We are owned by an American parent company, In-Situ Inc, but there are 11 of us here covering the UK and Europe. Our clients range from environmental consultants and the Government’s Environment Agency to construction companies, waste management companies, in fact anyone who needs to monitor the quality of groundwater and check for issues such as possible pollution, level and temperature.”
The company wanted to remain in the West Midlands, because of its links to the motorway network, but also so it could retain its locally-based, skilled workforce.
“Initially we were looking around Shirley but we spotted some premises on the John Truslove website, got in touch and they have been very helpful. Dealing directly with property agents who knew the area so well made things a lot easier.
“They showed us around a number of places until we found the one that was right for us. It is three times the size of our previous site, giving us plenty of room for further growth.”
In-Situ Europe has now taken a five year lease on 24 Thornhill Road, a 6,720 sq ft unit on the North Moons Moat estate in Redditch, in a deal worth £38,680 a year.
James Carver, of property consultants Sanderson Weatherall, represented In-Situ in the deal, with Sydney Mitchell Solicitors in Shirley providing legal advice.
Ben Truslove, joint managing director of John Truslove, said: “We are delighted to have helped In-Situ find the right premises for their first major expansion.
“It also shows how attractive space in Redditch is for companies in the current market.”
