Move into manufacturing sees industrial racking specialist take on new base, aided by John Truslove
Growing demand for its industrial racking at home and abroad has seen a West Midlands firm move into manufacturing at a new base in Alcester, secured through property agents John Truslove.
Rack Storage UK has built an international reputation in the dozen years of its existence, with exports to Europe and North and South America now making up half its business, supplying heavy duty storage, industrial racking, office shelving, mezzanine floors and all types of specialist racking equipment.
Company owner Dean Ellin said: “We design and manage projects for our clients and outsourced the manufacturing, but it became clear we needed to be working on the fabrication side ourselves. That meant new premises.”
Working with Ben Truslove, joint managing director at John Truslove, Rack Storage has secured a five year lease on 2,791 sq ft of space at 19a Kinwarton Farm Road in Alcester.
The move into fabrication has also created three new jobs at the firm as workloads with major international clients accelerate to catch up after the delays caused by the year of Covid-19.
Despite the disruption caused to business worldwide by the coronavirus pandemic, Rack Storage has continued to work on major contracts such as a 60-bay project for an industrial client in Mexico and 36 bays for a UK electrical contractor.
“The move into fabrication gives us more control in terms of quality and speed of delivery. The racking industry is growing as companies seek to make more use of their factory and warehousing space, especially with property costs at a premium. Our industrial racking includes shelving units that can handle up to ten tonnes.
“Making sure we secured the right premises was vital to the future of the business. Ben and the team at John Truslove worked closely with us to ensure everything went smoothly.”
Ben Truslove said: “Rack Storage is a world-leading business taking a major step forward with its move into manufacturing. Securing the right premises was an important part of that development and that is where we come in. With our unrivalled links with commercial property landlords across this region we can ensure a growing and ambitious business can find the right premises at the right price.”
Redditch-based chartered surveyors and valuers John Truslove was recently named Most Active Agent in Worcestershire in the Radius Data Exchange survey produced in conjunction with EG, the commercial property market magazine.
Joint managing director Ian Parker was also named Worcestershire Dealmaker of the Year AND Warwickshire Dealmaker of the Year for 2020. The survey year, which runs from August to August, saw John Truslove record a 36% increase in deals negotiated over the 12 months.
