Personal finance firm creates 55 jobs in Redditch move, helped by John Truslove
A personal finance firm will create at least 55 jobs to more than double its workforce after moving to a new base in Redditch, assisted by John Truslove.
The leading chartered surveyors has agreed the deal for Mobile Money to rent the 7,814 sq ft offices at 1 Brooklands on Moons Moat Drive in what is one of Redditch’s biggest office lettings of 2018.
Mobile Money was previously based in two offices at Birchfield Road and Faraday Business Park in Redditch but has moved to Moons Moat Drive to accommodate its expansion plans.
John Truslove arranged the office rental for Mobile Money after Gymshark, the previous occupants, moved to larger premises.
Ian Parker, a director at John Truslove, said: “We’re delighted to have found the right premises for Mobile Money to move into and have enjoyed working with them to prepare their new offices for expansion.
“It’s great to see a local firm growing within the town, and it’s pleasing to know that this move will help to create so many new jobs.”
Mobile Money, which until now focused on logbook loans, currently employs 45 staff and plans to increase this to 100 or more over the next 18 months as it offers a new suite of personal finance products.
Roger Lingard, chief executive at Mobile Money, said: “We’re very pleased with our new offices at Moons Moat Drive, where there’s great transport links, plenty of parking and good services for our staff to use.
“We’ve invested considerably in renovating our new offices and upgrading our IT infrastructure to enhance both the working environment and the recreational break out areas for our current and future employees.”
Established in 1998, Mobile Money was the UK’s first logbook lender. Part of its recent expansion came after it acquired rival brand AutoMoney at the end of 2017.
Mr Lingard added: “We’re now ready to start recruiting new underwriters, customer service agents and team leaders to support our senior managers.”
