Shop opening brings new jobs to Evesham town centre, thanks to John Truslove
An empty shop unit in Evesham town centre has been brought back into use, providing local jobs, with the help of property agents John Truslove.
It has opened as a branch of the 150-strong VPZ vaping chain which has secured a number of additional stores in the local area.
29 Bridge Street is a 903 sq ft unit but had been vacant for some time, but VPZ’s property advisers, Nulty Cader, identified the shop as fitting the bill.
Thomas Nulty said: “We provide tailored property advice for a range of retail and leisure clients. VPZ prefer to open their stores in clusters, so we were looking at a number of towns in the area.
“We visited the town and identified that the unit in Bridge Street was empty and ideal for our client’s needs.
“We contacted John Truslove, as the landlord’s agents, and they were very helpful. We do a lot of property deals but this was definitely one of the smoothest we have handled.
“The end result is good news for everyone involved. VPZ have a new shop, it has created employment and Evesham has an empty shop back in use again.”
Mr Nulty added: “Alongside the shop in Evesham, we have also opened in Worcester and Hereford, with negotiations under way for a further shop in Gloucester.”
Kate Ibbitson, of landlord Alertbind, said: “The unit had been empty for a number of months, following a number of relatively short term lettings. We now have a tenant on a long-term lease and we hope the new shop will be a great success. It is a welcome addition to the town centre in Evesham, which has struggled in recent years.
“As ever, we are extremely pleased with the service we have had throughout the process from Ben at John Truslove.”
Ben Truslove, joint managing director at John Truslove, said: “We are very pleased to have been able to work with Nulty Cader and VPZ to bring this empty shop back into use. It is good news that a large retail chain has identified Evesham as a promising site for a new branch – we hope other companies will follow in their wake.”
John Truslove secured a ten year lease for Alertblind with its new tenant, VPZ, at £17,950 per annum.
